I read with some interest two posts on the Amazon Affiliate Blog today, and learned some useful information!
The first one is for refining search results when linking to Amazon, here are the bits you need to know:
- &keywords=
Will link to specific keywords in the search results. - &brand=
Will link directly to specific brands.
e.g. Photography with Canon or Sony products: http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?node=560834&linkCode=qs&tag=brav20&brand=Canon|Sony - &pct-off=
This is a bit of a different one, you can use it to get all products that are a % off or more, or all products between two percentages by leaving one of the percentages outExample 1: Photography products that are 40% off or more: http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?node=560834&linkCode=qs&tag=brav20&pct-off=40-Example 2: Kitchen Appliances – Toasters between 10% and 20% off: http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?node=11716951&linkCode=qs&tag=brav20&pct-off=10-20
- &author=AUTHORNAME&select-author=field-author-like
This one’s different again because you need two fields. The authors name and the type of search. If you specify the full name of the author, you should always use last name comma first name (Blyton, Enid).Example: Children’s books by authors with the name Matthews:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?node=69&linkCode=qs&tag=brav20&author=Matthews&select-author=field-author-like
These can even be combined (something I may play with later and hence the reason for blogging it here!)
Example 1: Canon or Sony digital cameras:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?node=560834&linkCode=qs&tag=brav20&keywords=digital%20camera&brand=Canon|Sony
Example 2: Children’s books about pirates by John Matthews
http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?node=69&linkCode=qs&tag=brav20&keywords=pirates&author=Matthews,John&select-author=field-author-like
