I’m trying to edit some video, and on a recommendation I’m having a play with Pinnacle Studio with a view to buying it.
I’ve installed the trial version 10.5, but it keeps crashing, I can only do so much before it bombs out with a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death for the uninitiated!).
If anyone has any ideas/recommendation/whinges – please shout. I love the interface, but stability is abysmal!!
I’ve done some reading, and version 11 seems to be more stable for some people – but can I really warrant £60-£90 on a product that some people rave about and others hate?
This could over and past, but unfortunately it continues with version number 14!!! I can´t install it – every times I try it gives me the blue screen. I´v run update of all my drivers, I´ve run a clean up in my register nothing have helped. Is there someone in space who can help me. By the way: I have a Fujitsu PC
My solution is here:
I got it working by disabling some options and updating some drivers
Hey, i have a friend who has pinnacle and he has had exactl the same problem, he was using the XP operating system but now I have updated it to windows 7 he has no trouble with it at all, its very strange!!
Hi Paul,
You’ll noticed I’ve changed your name – please use a real name on this blog, or don’t link to your website – I’ve left it linked and changed your name as I’ve given you the benefit of the doubt on this occasion.
I had so many problems until I turned down the hardware graphics acceleration then I was able to edit quite happily in XP (on an old laptop mind!). I’m running Vista (AARRGGH) on my main machine but will likely to change to Win7 in the near future, it has far more compatibility with the XP products than Vista ever did!
I have used Pinnacle 10 on XP pro w/o a problem. Now I have Windows 7 64bit, and had to buy a pinnacle studio HD (great system), but now I get the BSOD randomly during import (capture) from Pinnacle’s USB analogy-digital h/w. Avid has been no help…. changed NVIDIA drivers from oldest to latest… still random bsod, 🙁
